Gordon West was an English professional football goalkeeper born on April 24, 1943, in Darfield, West Riding of Yorkshire. He played for several clubs during his career, including Blackpool, Everton, and Tranmere Rovers. West joined Everton in January 1962 and stayed with the club until December 1974, making a significant impact as a goalkeeper. He later moved to Tranmere Rovers, where he played from January 1975 to June 1979. West also earned three international caps for England during his career. After retiring from professional football, he worked at Tranmere Rovers on the ground staff at Prenton Park and also served as a security guard at RAF Woodvale. West passed away on June 10, 2012.
